The school peon

SCHOOL PEON

A school peon is an important person in the school. Apparently, he has no significance but his services, undoubtedly, are great for school. I will say so that school cannot be run without him.

The name of our school peon is x.y.z. He is about twenty-five years old. He possesses a weak and thin body. He has medium height and thing grey mustaches. His complexion is not so fair. He mostly wears light-red color dresses. He mostly keeps a dark black shawl with himself. He is very obedient to the Principal and the staff.

He comes an hour before school begins. He cleans the Principal’s office. He puts all the things there in order. He opens the classrooms and dusts desks, tables, and chairs. He then rings the bell for the school Assembly.

As the school activities go on, he sits outside the Principal’s office. He takes the fixture book in his hand and goes from teacher to teacher to get signed the fixture. Sometimes, he is sent to post letters. Sometimes, he has to go to the bank to deposit or draw school money. Sometimes, he circulates an order in the classes.

If he goes on leave for one day, everybody complains against him because the school work suffers.
When the school time comes to an end, he rings the final bell. He waits sometimes and makes sure when all the students and teachers have gone. Then, he switches off all the ACs, fans and tube lights and shuts all the doors and windows. He then puts keys in his pocket and goes home.

He is a simple person. He gets very limited salary so lives from hand to mouth. He lives in a very poor and shabby house. No doubt, he renders numerous services to school but receives very little in return.
