THE VILLAGE LIFE IN PAKISTAN
Life in a Pakistani village is not the same as it is in a city. City life is full of hustle and bustle while in a village it is quieter. Houses in our villages are mostly mud-built except few those are made of baked bricks. To avoid thefts, houses are built side by side. In most villages, the drainage system is not available, and lanes and streets are not metalled. The most important center of activity and interest in a village is the village well for women and Otaq for men. There is a Primary school in every village with only one teacher in it.
Usually, villagers lead a simple life. They are honest, simple and innocent. The main profession in our villages is agriculture. Our villagers are well known for their hospitality.
The most important persons in a village are a carpenter and blacksmith. Other important persons of the village are the schoolteacher and the “Imam”.
It is the duty of us all to improve the lives of the villagers. Proper education should be given to them. Medical facilities should be provided to them.
